Fold, says pokeroom.com

Pokeroom.com has finally pulled the plug and turned the lights off. Reputed to have been one of the fore-runners to todays modern online game, the announcement came yesterday that the site had closed.

   The pokeroom was set up in 1999, with minimal competition at that time the site quickly became popular all over europe. In 2003 the site was purchased by Austrian firm Bwin and continued to grow. After various set backs they decided to pull out of the American market, and with the loss of many of their American faithful the decision was made to fold the site.

 The majority of players have transferred their accounts to the Bwin site, and continue to enjoy the game. So after 10 years of serving the poker community Pokeroom.com has finally folded.
