sky_poker_logoSky Poker have begun their search for a Total Player where the winner will be entered into three tournaments; a £100 Sky Poker Tour event, a £1,000 professional tournament and the $10,000 WSOP Main Event.

The TV contest, similar to The X Factor, will have three mentors; Sky Poker analyst and author of ‘How to Play and Win at Poker’ Matt Broughton, former professional cricketer Ed Giddens and new Sky Poker analyst David Tuckman. They will be choosing the most creative players from the top 50 performing players in cash, sit & go and multi-table tournaments every week.

Each mentor will select 6 players during the next 7 weeks. The mentors will be advising and challenging their players to develop their ability to stay in the competition and win. The winner will be decided by a public vote. The mentor will receive 10% of winnings earned by the Total Player in the three tournaments they are entered into.

Des Duffy, Head of Poker at Sky Betting and Gaming said, “Total Player will contain everything that has made Sky Poker so popular: it will deliver a great deal of excitement and opportunity to our playing community; an educational element; and, of course, the chance to win big. I’m particularly excited that Total Player will offer Sky Poker players at all levels, an opportunity to showcase their potential and realise a dream of sitting with some of the biggest names in world poker.”
